The opportunity

 

The Royal Freemasons community is looking for experienced and motivated Food Services Assistants (FSA) to join our team at Centennial Lodge Residential Aged Care Facility located in Wantirna South.

 

The FSA is responsible for the safe provision of quality food and beverage services to our residents, ensuring the individual nutritional requirements and preferences of each resident are met.  This role is also essential in supporting the overall well-being of residents by creating an enjoyable dining experience to support residents to take pleasure in, and consume, their meals.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Making sure that the dining rooms are well kept, tables are neatly presented,
  • Preparation, serving, presentation and delivery of food and beverages in accordance with the Food Safety Program.
  • Ensuring that the correct food and beverages are served to each resident according to their dietary/specialised nutritional requirements.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service, always including presenting in a professional manner when interacting with residents during meal services.

Requirements for the position

  • Experience in hospitality, an aged care facility, hospital environment and/or related field is ideal.
  • A current Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Food Standards and Food Safety.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build and foster strong working relationships and work well as part of a team.

Other requirements

  • It is a mandatory requirement when working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Clearance or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Clearance, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of this role.
  • All Aged Care workers are encouraged to be vaccinated against Covid-19 (3 vaccines) and receive the Flu-Vaccine, all successful applicants will be required to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination prior to commencement.
