The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our aged care team and play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents through nutritious, high-quality meals.

 

As a Cook in our aged care home in Wantirna South, you will create delicious, wholesome meals that cater to the individual needs of our residents, including modified diets and cultural preferences. You’ll work as part of a dedicated hospitality team that values teamwork, respect, and making a real difference every day.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals in line with the menu plan, dietary requirements, and food safety standards.
  • Ensure meals are presented attractively and served on time.
  • Collaborate with the clinical and care team to meet residents’ individual dietary needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and comply with all food safety regulations.
  • Assist in ordering, stock rotation, and inventory control.

 

About You

  • Relevant Certificate in Commercial Cookery.
  • Experience cooking in aged care is essential
  • Understanding of special dietary needs including texture-modified and allergen-aware meals.
  • Strong time management and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing of older people.

Other requirements

It is a mandatory requirement when working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Clearance or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Clearance, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of this role. 

 

All aged care workers are encouraged to be vaccinated against Covid-19 (3 vaccines) and receive the Flu-Vaccine.
