The opportunity

Royal Freemasons is seeking reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistants to join our dedicated team at Coppin Centre Residential Aged Care Facility, located in Melbourne.

 

As a Laundry Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the comfort and dignity of our residents by ensuring all laundry services are delivered efficiently, hygienically, and to a high standard. Your attention to detail and care will directly contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment for our residents.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents’ personal clothing, linen, and facility laundry.
  • Operate commercial washing and drying equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all laundry is handled according to infection control and hygiene standards.
  • Label and return items accurately to residents’ rooms.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the laundry area.
  • Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with the cleaning and care teams to ensure consistent quality service.

About You

  • Previous experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or cleaning role (aged care or healthcare preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a respectful approach to residents and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work across various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Requirements 

  • It is a mandatory requirement when working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Clearance or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Clearance, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of this role. 
  • All Aged Care workers are encouraged to be vaccinated against Covid-19 (3 vaccines) and to receive the Flu-Vaccine, all successful applicants will be required to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination prior to commencement.
