The Opportunity

 

As a Cook in our residential aged‑care community, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, nutritious, high‑quality meals that support the wellbeing and preferences of our residents.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare fresh, nutritious meals that cater to residents' individual dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, handling, and storage in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage stock levels and assist with food ordering to ensure kitchen supplies are maintained.
  • Safely use and store kitchen chemicals and equipment in line with workplace procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to create a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Provide friendly, respectful, and responsive service to residents, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Adhere to Aged Care Quality Standards and organisational policies at all times.
  • Support a dementia-inclusive dining experience that promotes residents' dignity, choice, and wellbeing.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Trade Certificate or Diploma in Cookery
  • Food Handling Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Work experience in Residential Aged Care as Cook or similar experience within Hospitality/Health of at least 2 years experience
  • Ability to lead by example and train a team 
  • Good computer literacy and documentation skills
